The Challenge.

Steve and his band of happy first-aiders have been providing first aid training for a number of years now. Covering a wide range of first aid training courses Beyond First Aid can help individuals or businesses ensure their staff are first aid qualified.

As well as classroom-based training courses, Beyond First Aid also provide first aid cover for events; anything from sporting events to festivals. ensuring the safety of everyone attending the event.

Beyond First Aid’s original website was put together – using WordPress – by Steve, the owner of Beyond First Aid. There was content there for most of the pages but the “kerb appeal” of the website was definitely lacking.

Another thing we see with a lot of WordPress websites people put together themselves is the level (or not) of security being used. From hosting headers to firewalls, things are pretty poor sometimes. We knew we’d be able to sort that out though as we build security in from the start of our designs.

The old website used an embedded Google calendar for its events listings, which although usable. it didn’t feel like it was part of the actual website design. Embedding things into website generally means little to no control over how it actually looks. This was something that definitely needed to be addressed as part of the new design.

Result

Steve already had his logo, brand font, and brand colours before coming to us to create his new website, so we needed to incorporate those elements into the new design.

The brand font is used throughout the site (in the brand’s green colour) whenever “Beyond” is used to sync up with the logo.

We delivered an easy to read, simple to navigate, informational website that showed off the benefits of using Beyond First Aid for your first aid training or event cover. More importantly, we gave Steve a website that is easy to update – adding new events etc. – giving him time to focus on the more important parts of running his business.
